{"id":580,"date":"2019-10-21T07:24:06","date_gmt":"2019-10-21T11:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ptsied.com\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=580"},"modified":"2019-11-14T07:27:59","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T12:27:59","slug":"analytical-chemist","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.ptsied.com\/?post_type=job_listing&p=580","title":{"rendered":"Analytical Chemist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptsied.com\/\"><strong>Pegasus Technical Services, Inc.<\/strong><\/a>, an&nbsp;environmental firm in Cincinnati, Ohio,&nbsp;has an immediate opening for an Analytical Chemist at U.S. EPA\u2019s Groundwater, Watershed, and Ecosystem Restoration Division (GWERD) in Ada, OK.&nbsp;This full-time position is funded through a U.S. EPA contract, and involves the analysis of samples for various types of organic contaminants using GC\/MS\/MS, LC\/MS\/MS or other closely related techniques.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be a key member of a team that will provide technical support in the area of organic chemical analyses for matrices as soils, sediments, waters, gases and biological materials.&nbsp; Major classes of compounds to be analyzed include volatiles, semi-volatiles, estrogens, antibiotics, surfactants, alcohols, dissolved gases, organic and volatile acids.&nbsp; The various analyses may include the use of liquid chromatography\/mass spectrometry, gas chromatography\/mass spectrometry, vapor analysis, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, and infrared spectrometry among other techniques.&nbsp; Sample introduction techniques include headspace analyzers, purge-and trap, automated liquid sample injectors, large volume injectors, and thermal desorption.&nbsp; Existing SOPs will be used for the analysis of the samples.
