Pegasus Technical Services, Inc. (Pegasus), an environmental consulting firm in Cincinnati, Ohio, has a position available for an entry level Engineer to work full-time on a U.S. EPA-funded contract.\u00a0 The focus of this job is on evaluating poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at landfills.\u00a0 This includes the development of a sample collection program that optimizes sample collection to meet the needs of the project, including evaluating databases for landfill locations and characteristics, plus coordinating with landfill operators.\u00a0 Samples to be collected include landfill leachates, gas condensates, groundwater, and surface water samples.\u00a0 Additional samples will be included in both liquid, solid, and gaseous forms.\u00a0 Assist in the development of protocols for these additional sample matrices and order supplies and equipment associated with samples.\u00a0 Develop the sample collection plan for each landfill including a map illustrating sample collection locations.\u00a0 Assist with laboratory studies related to PFAS including laboratory leaching studies, column tests, and analysis of physical chemical parameters.\u00a0 Maintain a log of all samples collected and an inventory of supplies.\u00a0 Communicate with laboratories for bottle and cooler requests and follow up in terms of confirming receipt of samples and provision of receipts.\u00a0 Prepare for sample collection field trips and collect samples in the field including coordinating use of the vehicle.\u00a0 Sample collection may require overnight stays due to distance of sampling locations.\u00a0 Develop field and laboratory safety protocols. Provide safety training and assure that those on the project are abiding by safety protocols.\u00a0 Analyze analytical data and prepare presentations, reports, and manuscripts from the PFAS related research.\u00a0 Conduct a literature review needed to support presentations, reports, and manuscripts.\u00a0 Attend PFAS related meetings and assist in coordination of meetings when necessary. Assist in coordination of sample collection between U. Miami, U. Florida, the EPA, and other groups as needed.\u00a0 Other duties related to the project as assigned. Candidate must have strong work ethic, strong written and verbal communication skills and must be good at team collaboration.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <\/strong>Applicants must have a B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.<\/p>\n
